Annual Speakeasy Gala a Roaring Success

Updated: Feb 23

The Zontas of Miami Lakes primary annual fundraising event raised over $25,000 for programs and organizations supporting the health and wellness of women

Food, Fun and Fundraising coming together!

On Saturday May 11th, Shula's Hotel was transformed into a 1920's Speakeasy for the Annual Zonta's of Miami Lakes Gala. While dining on stone crabs and unlimited buffet options, guests made bids on silent auction items that included.

After a lively live auction, guests moved into the main room which featured a large dance floor; everyone made use of the space to dance to the tunes spun by a DJ. Those wanting to have a different kind of fun were able to play a variety of casino games on any of the eight tables that were available.

Guests were also able to savor delicious food throughout the night. A full meal was available from the buffet stations positioned throughout the room, that included two carving stations. Everyone's sweet tooth was also satisfied by the huge selection of deserts that included chocolate cigars for those really getting into the Speakeasy vibe!

“The night exceeded my expectations- it wasn't just about raising funds, it was about building a community.t was such a relaxed and friendly crowd. I met so many new people just sitting down at the casino tables. The dance floor was never empty. I am looking forward to next year!”
